Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00am to 17:00pm
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Floor Layer to join a leading Social Housing Contractor operating across Dudley, Wolverhampton, and Sandwell. The successful candidate will work within occupied social housing properties, carrying out reactive repairs and planned maintenance to a high standard while delivering excellent customer service to tenants.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out floor laying repairs and renewals within occupied social housing properties.
- Install, repair, and maintain a variety of flooring types including vinyl, safety flooring, sheet vinyl, laminate, and carpet tiles.
- Undertake floor preparation works including latex screeding, patch repairs, and subfloor preparation.
- Ensure all flooring installations are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
- Complete up to 7 jobs per day across the designated patch.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with residents at all times.
- Accurately update job progress and completion details using a mobile application.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Floor Layer, ideally within the social housing, repairs, or maintenance sector.
- Experience fitting a range of flooring products including vinyl, safety flooring, and laminate flooring.
- Ability to prepare subfloors and carry out associated flooring repairs.
- Experience working in occupied properties and providing excellent customer service.
- Own basic hand and power tools required for floor laying works.
- Smartphone for receiving and updating jobs via the company app (BYOD allowance of -20 per month).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
