About this role
This contract role in North London is for an experienced Supervisor to oversee water mains laying on a busy water infrastructure programme. You will supervise approximately three mains-laying teams, coordinating daily site activities and resources, monitoring progress against programme, and ensuring works are completed safely and to the required quality standards. Duties also include conducting site briefings, monitoring safe working practices, resolving day-to-day site issues, and coordinating with site teams, subcontractors and management while supporting the Area Manager or Site Agent with operational delivery. Previous water mains-laying experience is preferred; candidates from a gas mains-laying background with relevant utility construction and team supervision experience will also be considered. Rate: £250–£300 per day.

Carrington West is recruiting for experienced Mains-Laying Supervisors to support a busy water infrastructure programme across North London.
The successful Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing approximately three operational teams, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

About You
Previous water mains-laying experience is preferred. Candidates from a gas mains-laying background will also be considered where they have relevant utility construction and team supervision experience.
You should have:
- Water or gas mains-laying experience
- Previous supervisory experience within utilities or infrastructure
- Experience managing multiple operational teams
- Strong health and safety awareness
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage a busy workload across multiple sites
