About this role
This SEND Teaching Assistant role in Huyton is a permanent position with Prospero Teaching, joining a supportive school. You will provide consistent, individualised support to pupils with additional needs, helping them make meaningful progress inside and outside the classroom. Working alongside experienced teaching staff, you will support pupils with their learning, communication, behaviour and emotional development. The role would suit an experienced TA, LSA or support worker with a genuine passion for working with children with SEND. The salary is £92 to £110 per day.
Job Description
Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Huyton. The school is seeking someone who can provide consistent, individualised support to pupils with additional needs and help them make meaningful progress both inside and outside the classroom.
This SEND Teaching Assistant role would suit an experienced TA, LSA or support worker with a genuine passion for working with children with SEND. You will work alongside experienced teaching staff to support pupils with their learning, communication, behaviour and emotional development.
The Role
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND
Support pupils to access a differentiated and inclusive curriculum
Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning
Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Support pupils with communication and social development
Deliver targeted interventions and classroom-based activities
Develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND
Experience supporting Autism, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties or speech and language needs
A patient, resilient and nurturing approach
Confident supporting pupils with different levels of need
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Able to remain calm and consistent when managing challenging behaviour
A relevant education, childcare, SEND or TA qualification is desirable
