An exciting opportunity for a Year 2 Teacher!
Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Primary Teacher looking for your next opportunity in Walsall?
We are working in partnership with a welcoming, two-form entry primary school rated 'Good' by Ofsted, who are seeking a dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join their supportive and hardworking team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who can create an engaging learning environment, inspire young learners and support pupils as they build confidence and prepare for the transition into Key Stage 2.
The Role - Year 2 Teacher
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 national curriculum.
- Prepare pupils for their end-of-Key Stage 1 assessments, including phonics, reading, writing and mathematics where appropriate.
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, identify learning needs and support pupil attainment.
- Establish a positive classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour, achievement and inclusion.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including those requiring additional support.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents to promote pupil progress and wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has experience teaching Year 2 or across Key Stage 1, although strong primary practitioners with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- Has a secure understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and effective assessment strategies.
- Is confident in teaching early reading, phonics, writing and mathematics.
- Demonstrates strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
- Is enthusiastic, nurturing and committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
