About this role
This is a contract HGV Driver role based in Sunderland, working within a waste and recycling team to carry out refuse collections across the South Tyneside area on a temporary ongoing basis. Responsibilities include completing domestic waste and recycling collections along scheduled routes, assisting with loading refuse into the collection vehicle where required, and handling bins and receptacles safely and returning them appropriately. You will work as part of a team to maintain an efficient waste collection service, ensure all work follows Health & Safety procedures, and report any vehicle, equipment or collection issues to the relevant supervisor.

Experienced and professional Refuse Driver required to work with a leading and highly reputable organisation.
My client requires an experienced Refuse Driver to join their waste and recycling team on a temporary ongoing contract. The role involves carrying out refuse collections across the South Tyneside area as part of a busy operational team.
Location: Sunderland
Pay: -18.00 per hour (Paid via Umbrella)
Hours: 37 hours per week (Tuesday - Friday)
Start Date: ASAP

Refuse Driver
- Drive HGV refuse collection vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Carry out domestic waste and recycling collections across scheduled routes.
- Assist with loading refuse and recycling into the collection vehicle where required.
- Ensure bins and receptacles are handled safely and returned appropriately.
- Complete collections in a professional and timely manner.
- Work as part of a team to maintain an efficient waste collection service.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety procedures.
- Report any vehicle, equipment or collection issues to the relevant supervisor.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid C1 Licence.
- Must hold a valid CPC qualification.
- Must hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous refuse, waste collection or HGV driving experience is desirable.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Physically fit and comfortable assisting with refuse loading.
- Reliable and professional approach to work.
