What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll take responsibility for electrical design delivery on complex construction projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and commercial viability throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
andmiddot;Leading the design of LV and HV electrical systems for large-scale developments
andmiddot;Producing electrical designs, specifications, calculations, and technical reports
andmiddot;Supporting grid connection applications and liaising with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and National Grid stakeholders
andmiddot;Designing electrical infrastructure including substations, transformers, switchgear, standby generation, and power distribution systems
andmiddot;Advising clients on power availability, load assessments, and future capacity requirements
andmiddot;Supporting energy efficiency, sustainability, and decarbonisation initiatives across projects
andmiddot;Coordinating electrical designs with mechanical, civil, structural, and architectural teams
andmiddot;Managing technical interfaces between utility providers, contractors, and clients
andmiddot;Undertaking site surveys and attending project meetings
andmiddot;Reviewing contractor designs and technical submissions
andmiddot;Identifying project risks and developing practical engineering solutions
andmiddot;Supporting project delivery from feasibility through to construction and commissioning
What You'll Bring
We're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and working on major projects.
You'll ideally have:
andmiddot;Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification and industry experience
andmiddot;Proven experience within Building Services or Electrical Infrastructure Design
andmiddot;Strong knowledge of both HV and LV electrical systems
andmiddot;Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
andmiddot;Understanding of National Grid and DNO connection processes and protocols
andmiddot;Experience delivering electrical designs from concept through detailed design
andmiddot;Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, protection and coordination studies
andmiddot;Strong understanding of current regulations, standards, and design best practices
andmiddot;Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams
andmiddot;Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
andmiddot;Commercial awareness and project delivery experience
Desirable Experience
The following would be beneficial:
andmiddot;Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards Chartership
andmiddot;Data Centre, Healthcare, Industrial, or Mission-Critical project experience
andmiddot;Knowledge of renewable energy integration and battery storage systems
andmiddot;Experience with energy modelling and power system analysis software
andmiddot;Understanding of Net Zero and low-carbon design strategies
