About this role
This is a permanent, full-time Caretaker role in Bexleyheath, working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with an ASAP start. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of a busy secondary school site, opening and securing the premises, carrying out daily site and security checks, and undertaking general maintenance and minor repairs. Additional duties include keeping the site safe, clean and well presented, setting up rooms for school activities and events, liaising with contractors, and reporting maintenance issues. Pay is £14.50 to £19 per hour, dependent on contract.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced School Caretaker to join a busy secondary school in Bexleyheath.
The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the school site, ensuring the buildings and grounds are safe, secure, clean and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and securing the school site
- Carrying out daily site and security checks
- Undertaking general maintenance and minor repairs
- Ensuring the school site is safe, clean and well presented
- Setting up rooms and areas for school activities and events
- Liaising with contractors and reporting maintenance issues
- Supporting with general premises and facilities duties
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in caretaking, premises or facilities
- Good general maintenance and practical skills
- A reliable, proactive and hands-on approach
- Good knowledge of health and safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience working within a school environment would be advantageous
- A valid DBS or willingness to undergo a DBS check
